Desk Research is the searching, gathering and analyzing of information which already exists and is available. During this study, official statistical data, press articles, companies’ information materials, web publications, and many other sources are used.

Desk Research enables information to be gained without commissioning fieldwork research. Therefore desk research is cost effective. The main drawback of this method is that there is no guarantee that all the required information can be gained. In this case, desk research may be the initial stage for fieldwork research.
